We come back with materials, finish, dimensions and a firm price. Nothing is charged at this stage.

Made by hand in the workshop. We send progress photographs while it's on the bench.

Most commissions begin with a photograph of an awkward corner and a rough measurement. You do not need a drawing, a material or a finished idea, that part is our job.
No design fee. You only pay once the drawing and price are agreed.

Questions we get asked
- How long does a custom piece take?
- Most pieces take two to four weeks from the day we agree the drawing. Large dining tables and bar counters run closer to four to six, mainly because the timber has to be selected and allowed to settle first.
- Does custom cost much more than buying from the collection?
- Usually not. Rebuilding an existing design at a different size is often within about ten per cent of the showroom price. A piece designed from scratch depends on the timber and the complexity, which is what the quote is for.
- Can you match something I already own?
- Often, yes. Send us photographs in daylight and, if you can, a close-up of the finish. We can usually get very close on colour and grain, though with reclaimed timber an exact match is not something we'd promise upfront.
- Do I need to pay a deposit?
- Yes, we take a deposit once the drawing and price are agreed, because the materials are bought for your piece specifically. The balance is due on delivery.
