A coffee table with enough presence to anchor a seating arrangement. Low, solid and built to be sat around rather than tiptoed past, the sort of piece a living room ends up being arranged in relation to.

Sized to sit comfortably with a standard three-seat sofa
Solid construction, no veneer over board
Character marks in the timber left visible, not sanded away

Coasters are worth using. Clean with a soft, barely damp cloth and dry at once. Re-oil when the surface starts to look dry.

Fine checking along end grain is normal in solid timber and often closes again in a wetter month, it is the wood responding to humidity, not a fault. Avoid all-purpose sprays, bleach and silicone polish entirely; they strip an oil finish.
